RPEA Chapter 9 Surf City– Santa Cruz has been serving retired public employees since 1958.

About Us

We are retired California public employees working together to maintain and Improve the quality of the lives of our members by protecting and improving our retirement and medical benefits.

The Retired Public Employees Association is a statewide association, with approximately 35,000 members, representing all CalPERS Retirees. Surf City–Santa Cruz Chapter 009 has more than 500 members, most of whom reside within the county. Our members have retired from all phases of public service, i.e. State, classified schools, city, county and local government districts.

RPEA Chapter 009– Surf City– Santa Cruz meets quarterly for lunch, with entertaining and informative programs. Members are eligible for a range of benefits including dental insurance and pet insurance plans, and discounts at many venues.

With our pension and health benefits dependent on politics and the economy, we need to get our stories of public service out.

An Abridged History of RPEA is available.
